What is a “polycrisis” ?

Why everyone is so occupied with “trying” to solve it ?

I have discovered a new art magazine that discusses the term “polycrisis” in their spring issue through different fields of art. That comes up to me, considering, I should share my own version of polycrisis.

Initially, what is a polycrisis ? – Why this notion summarizes today’s society, economics and environment perfectly, by all means the world we are living in is full of crisis without proper solutions. It is a time of great disagreement, confusion or suffering that is caused by many different problems happening at the same time that effects our life.

Who creates polycrisis – the people of our generation is creating maybe without realizing or intentionally. The society is stupefied with consumerism, hunger that leads to disruption. Not to compete with previous generations or ages, although is it suitable to comment as the worst possible time might be the time we are now living in ?

Well, to look back at the things world has seen in the last ten years and still, I have started to believe that the “expected future” of older is our disappointing present. Here, the key word is future, it has been thought us that thorough different metaphors like light, horizon the future awaits always have pleasant news to bring us. One can always hope, however we are nothing like what our parents have imagined in the beginning of the 21st century. We do not met their expectations in any way, maybe just in technology. Nowadays, the world of internet outdid itself with Artificial Intelligence. Except for that the world become less better in the last twenty four years.
