Some of My Handpicked Art Magazines
Spike Art Magazine
On top the list, my favourite but a recent discover Spike Art is an amazing gate through the contemporary art scene. I have discovered this magazine when I was traveling from Cologne to Hamburg last year, I was in the train station scrolling through the shelves then I have encountered with this intriguing front page. I had the immediate urge to buy it!
They also sell online- the PDF version from their website which I love because when I am traveling I do not enjoy carrying bunch of stuff so I like reading though my iPad.
ArtDog Istanbul
I believe this magazine is mostly known by Turkish readers although they have English edition for foreign readers. ArtDog Istanbul is a practical magazine with insights from Turkish art scene and features different local exhibitions from all over the Turkiye. It helps me not to miss any art related event and keeps me updated on my home country’s new fairs and festivals.
The only critique I might comment on is that they have way to many advertisements, no different than a Vogue magazine nowadays.
Apollo Magazine
I recently discovered this magazine and I'm new to its content, but so far, it features some truly interesting and captivating pieces.
Exibart
Exibart targets Italian speaking audience but they also feature English content on their webpage. I cannot specificy say that this is printed magazine, they more focused on web information about art. I am subscribed to their mailing list, so everytime I open my mails I like to check some of their new published news. It also assists me improving my Italian.
thank you!
