Marcel Dzama- Dancing With The Moon

Dancing with the Moon exhibition by Marcel Dzama shows a upstanding against the politics, tyrants and oppositions on us. He is demonstrating this attitude through a witty carnival, circus elements combining with “Alice in Wonderland” figures attributing the idea of world is not a place to live its unlikely to satisfy the expectations of people.

I enjoyed Dzama and his friend Raymond Pettibon’s creations, especially the collages. The integrity was presents in the exhibition, however in some places the dual representation of the elements felt a bit enforced. Also, I am not sure the curator Alistair Hicks intended to represent the large-scale artworks hanged on the wall with ends spreading on the floor. It might link with the Marcel Dzama’s artist personality but I disliked the way artworks are displayed, it created a sense on the spectator that the due date was soon than expected.
