Stay Connected: Navigating the Cloud

23 December 2025

JC Contemporary & F Hall Gallery

26 Sep 2025 - 4 Jan 2026

The panoramic exhibition Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 presents twenty-first century art that addresses changes in social realities in China and their impacts on the world. Framed through the dual lenses of digital technology and the manufacturing supply chain, the two chapters, titled Stay Connected: Navigating the Cloud (26 Sep 2025 to 4 Jan 2026) and the forthcoming Stay Connected: Supplying the Globe (27 Feb to 31 May 2026), trace a constellation of innovative and alternative artistic practices as well as cultural transformations during this period.

My visit to this exhibition was a coincidence. We were in vacation in Hong Kong, my father insisted to show me the “Central-Mid Air Escalators” which is a tourist attraction. At the end of the stairs we were welcomed by this spacious area that hosts various contemporary art galleries and Former site of Victoria Prison. Then I came across with Parade Ground.

When you follow the Tai Kwun Lane it lead you to JC Contemporary where two leveled exhibitions is held. The building has a grandiose structure with an excellent interior.

This was my first time traveling to the East, and also my first visit to an exhibition in Hong Kong. I really enjoyed the exhibition, it offered a fresh perspective and revealed a different way of engaging with the space and the artworks. It felt like a fresh breath of air, quite unlike much of what I have seen so far in Europe, and it was amazing to witness how artists and galleries are presenting new works in such inventive, unexpected ways.
