The Lost Alphabet- Ahmet Güneştekin

In the Lost Alphabet exhibition, installations composed of objects that carry the layered memories of individuals displaced or uprooted from their geographies invite the viewer into an intense engagement with personal and collective histories. Memory-based works confront audiences with the painful reckonings of the past, while video and sound pieces, structured through micro-rhythmic patterns, broaden the scope of historical narrative.
The exhibition further presents the artist’s dimensional works, where interventions on the micro-elements of found objects transform them into sites of personal encounter; site-specific sculptural pieces crafted from stone and metal formations; paintings that employ myth as an interpretive strategy; sculptures that interweave ceramic elements with stone forms; and works produced using the traditional patchwork technique, reimagined here as a tactile, cultural artifact.

I admired how he effectively incorporated Turkish Anatolian mythology and culture into his artistic vision. The exhibition guides visitors through an engaging and captivating journey as it traces experiences from the past into the present and future, revealing the hidden and painful aspects of Turkish society.
