Belle Époque

Palazzo Blu, Pisa

15 October 2025- 7 April 2026

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Belle Époque exhibition held at Palazzo Blu in Italy. This captivating exhibition highlights one of the most fascinating and vibrant periods in European history, showcasing the works of renowned artists such as Giuseppe De Nittis, Vittorio Matteo Corcos, and Giovanni Boldini. It was truly inspiring to witness the artistic brilliance and cultural richness of that era come to life through their paintings and stories.

The paintings were absolutely beautiful, they make you wonder how it is possible to paint something so perfect and delicate. I absolutely loved this exhibition; it felt like a journey through Paris during a time of peace and innovation.

Following the conclusion of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871, Europe entered the Belle Époque era, which lasted until the start of World War I in 1914. The center of a cultural revolution was Paris. Numerous literary, musical, and visual masterpieces were produced, and art movements like Impressionism and Art Nouveau flourished.

It's interesting that “Toulouse-Lautrec: Un Viaggio Nella Parigi della Belle Époque”, another exhibition I recently saw, focused on the same historical era as this one. Seeing both exhibitions gave me a deeper understanding of the time period and gave me a genuine sense of time travel.
